Applying the report formatting options in Microsoft Access 2019

The formatting of a report in Access is exactly the same as how youwould format any other element in the Office 2019 environment. Theformatting options are located on the Format tab, or by right-clicking on theelement or report’s background. The options available depend on the viewthat you select, but you will become familiar with these as you get usedto formatting reports. 

First, to add color, we’ll have to follow these steps:

  1. Open a report in Design view, andthen click on the textbox that you wish to change the color of. 
  2. Select the arrow next to the Fill/BackColor icon under the Format tabin the Font group. Select a color toapply to the textbox by clicking on it.

Next, we’ll check on adding borders to a textbox or label:

  1. Open a report in Design view, andthen select the Shape Outline iconunder the Format tab in the Control Formatting group.
  2. Select a color from the palette.

Lastly, we’ll see how to change the border line width:

  1. Open a report in Design view, andthen select the Shape Outline iconunder the Format tab in the Control Formatting group.
  2. Place the mouse pointer on the LineThickness option, and then select the line thickness of yourchoice from the side menu.
