Software recommendation: background for the pattern of visual unusual

Looking at the monotonous taskbar or folder background color every day, have you ever thought of laying a base chart for the taskbar background or changing the window background color when Explorer or folder is opened to give your Windows 10 a different feel? In fact, this idea can be realized by two software.

1. Lay a background image for the taskbar

With the latest version of Classic Shell software, we can give the Windows 10 taskbar a background image. The latest version of the software is version 4.3.1, and will not continue to develop upgrades after December 2017, the official website address:

The main function of Classic Shell software is to replace the Windows 10 Start menu with the classic Start menu. We first need to hide up its main function and take advantage of its additional features. First download and install the latest version of Classic Shell, then the software will replace the Windows 10 Start right-click menu. Right-click on the Windows 10 Start button and select the Settings → Controls tab, then check all the options in the list that contain “Open System Start Menu”. Check the box, so that you can restore the default Windows 10 Start menu operation habits.

After removing the software’s interference with the traditional Windows 10 Start menu, click “Texture Image” under the “Taskbar” tab in the software’s settings window. You can add a background image for the taskbar by clicking the “Texture Image” item in the “Taskbar” tab of the software settings window (Figure 1). 2.

2. Change the background color of source manager or folder

If we want to change the background color of File Explorer or folders in Windows 10, we can use the third-party tool QTTabBar. The latest version of this software is version 1040, updated on March 24, 2019, and the official URL:

First, after downloading and installing QTTabBar, open the File Explorer “Options” button drop-down menu and select Enable QT tab Bar and QT Command Bar. When you open the folder or file explorer again, you will see the QT File Explorer toolbar.

Next, click the Settings icon in the QT toolbar in File Explorer. The QTTabBar Options window opens. Select the Appearance→Folder View tab in turn and check the Base Background color checkbox to select a background color for both Active and Inactive windows (Figure 2).

After that, move to the Navigation pane tab and select the Back color checkbox to choose the background color for the left navigation pane and select the text color (if required).

Then, click Compatible Folder View→General tab, select the Compatible list view style and Selected column bg color in details checkboxes, and click Choose a color to select the color. Finally, click the Apply button (Figure 3).
