Changing chart placement in Microsoft Excel 2019

  1. To move a chart, click to select it.
  2. Use one of the methods from the Clipboard group (you have learned this skillin all previous chapters of this book) to move or copy the chart, eitherto another location on the same worksheet or to a different worksheet orworkbook. 
  3. Right-click on the selected chart, and then use the cut, copy, andpaste icons from the shortcut menu provided (these were also explainedin previous chapters of this book).


  1. Select the chart, and then visit the Design tab of the Chart Tools contextual menu, where you willsee the Move Chart icon at the veryend of the ribbon. Note that this method creates a completely new sheetnamed Chart1 when choosing the Move to New Sheet option from the dialogbox, with the chart taking up the entire worksheet), as illustrated inthe following screenshot:

  1. Choose to send the selected chart to a new worksheet or as an objecton an existing worksheet. Click on the OK command when done. If you chose the New worksheet option, the chart will appearas a separate chart sheet to the left of Sheet1 in the workbook—the actual chart willtake up the entire worksheet, as illustrated in the followingscreenshot:
