If there is anything in PPT that is comparable to Apple’s Keynote, it is the new smooth switching effect from Office 2016, but sometimes it doesn’t work that way, either the transformed object is not the one we want; or it doesn’t generate the transformed effect at all, how should we deal with these problems?
What is Smooth Switching
To use smooth switching effectively, both slides need at least one object in common; the easiest way to do this is to copy the slide, then move the object on the second slide to another location (or, copy the object on one slide, paste it on the other slide), and then apply smooth switching to the second slide to see how the smoothing automatically animates the object and moves the object.
In the thumbnail pane on the left side of the PPT, click the slide to which you want to apply the toggle, which should be the second slide to which you want to add the object, picture or text to which the smoothing effect is applied, not the first one. Then, on the Toggle tab, select Smooth.
Depending on the object to be smoothed, we can set the way to smooth the transition by clicking on the “Switch” tab and selecting “Effect Options”.
Once the settings are complete, just click “Preview” to see how the smooth switch will look.
Only, this just looks like a very ordinary fade switching effect, which is not outstanding. So, let’s change it now and make the PPT smooth transition switch up better!
The exclamation point makes the bland magical
Continue the operation we just did, in the PPT page to achieve smooth switching, press ALT+F10 to open the selection pane, find the object you need to give the animation effect, click the object name, click again, English half corner state, enter ! , pay special attention to the exclamation mark must be English half corner, not Chinese half corner exclamation mark.
The reason for using such a label beginning with “!!!” because objects with names starting with “!!!” objects with the same name are forced to be associated with each other under the smooth switching effect. The naming method allows objects that would not otherwise transform to be forced to transform. In addition, for the objects that could have undergone transformation, it is possible to control more precisely the objects that undergo transformation.
However, it should be noted that this method is not available for any version of PPT, and you can refer to the official instructions to meet the requirements of PPT before you can use it.
Local zooming can be done like this
If your PPT presentation page wants to achieve a partial zoom and smooth movement effects, and how to deal with it? Let’s use a cell phone as an example. Put the cell phone picture on the PPT page, and then add two circular icons under the same page with us, click the switch tab to “Insert” and then select “Shape” to add them respectively.
Then, we click on the left page, select Copy, and then click on Paste-Preserve Original Format in the left margin to copy an identical page.
Then, in the first page of the PPT, hold down Ctrl and click to select the phone first, then select the circle above, note that the order can not be wrong, and then switch the tab to “Format” click “Merge Shapes” in the ” Intersect”, you can get the local details of the top of the phone. Next, in the second PPT page, hold down Ctrl and click on the picture of the phone, then select the circle below, also switch tabs to “Format” and click “Intersect” in “Merge Shapes”. “and you can get the local details of the top of the phone.
Next, we combine the two circles that make the intersection effect into one page, and, add a border effect to the two circles, using a light gray color is recommended, and enlarge them appropriately to highlight the difference.
Next, we make a copy of the combined diagram, and then delete the circle below and the circle above (no intersection of the two circles), and click to select the second page of the copied PPT, click to the “Switch” tab, click to select “Smooth “and it will become a partially enlarged and smoothly moving downward effect.
As long as you master certain skills, the smoothing effect will become very practical and easy to operate, if you are worried about making PPT effects, try this effect function!
