# Office hacks: Excel to quickly find the least common multiple or the largest convention

In research, work or life, it is sometimes necessary to find the greatest common multiple or the greatest common divisor between different numbers. The least common multiple must be divisible by all the data involved, which is often used in scientific research such as gearing and planetary alignment, while the greatest common divisor can divide all the data calculated by the parameters, which is often used in working life such as origami assembling and carpentry. If the traditional manual method is used, the calculation will be very complicated when there are more data involved in the calculation. With the help of Excel or WPS table function, you can easily seek the results.

1. in Excel to find the least common multiple or the greatest common divisor

In Excel to find the least common multiple, you can use the LCM function; and the maximum number of conventions can be used to find the GCD function. To obtain from cell A1 to cell A6 between the minimum common multiple of data and the maximum number of conventions to illustrate. If you want to write the results of the least common multiple of these six numbers into cell C2, click on cell C2, and then enter the formula “= LCM (A1: A6)”, press the Enter key will be able to see the results of the calculation 8400 (Figure 1). For example, to obtain the minimum common multiple of the above six numbers, simply locate the results of cell C2, and then click on the “Formula ¡ú Insert Function” menu button, enter LCM in the Find Function box, you can see the function given by WPS to use the format. Determine, according to the tips given by the wizard, specify the range of cells to be taken, you can get the results of the calculation (Figure 4).
