Software recommendations: give some color to change the face of the folder confusion can be changed

Although we can give different names to folders, clear golden folders are often difficult to distinguish their types quickly. By using some special software to color-code or define the attributes of folders, you can solve the problem of too many folders that are not easily identified when put together.

1. Right-click operation to colorize folders with one click

The easiest way to colorize a folder is to right-click directly on the folder and select the color. This idea is not difficult to achieve, you just need to install the software Folder Colorizer.

After installing the Folder Colorizer software, right-click on the folder to be colored and select a color under the Colorize! command to change the folder to that color. If you want to restore the folder color to the original system gold color, select Restore original color (Figure 1).

If the default folder color given by the software is not to your liking, you can select the Color command at the bottom of the menu, use the color palette and color slider to select your favorite color in the pop-up color definition panel, then name the new color in the Name the style text box and click the Add color button to add a custom color to the folder (Figure 2).

2. not only change the color but also customize other properties of the folder

If you think that just changing the color seems too single, you can use another software, StyleFolder, to define more folder functions than just changing the color. For example, you can change the color of the font of the folder name, define the text of the folder prompt, change the icon of the folder, etc.

StyleFolder can also be invoked via the right-click menu after installation. Right-click on a folder and select the Customize with StyleFolder command (Figure 3).

After that, you can enter the StyleFolder folder properties definition window, define the folder icon style through the Icon button, click Background to change the folder background, enter the file information prompt content in the text box, and click Text Color to set the color of the folder name (Figure 4).

Tip: In addition to using the right-click menu to start, you can also launch StyleFolder through the software icon and then use the Browse button to specify the folder or drive to be customized to perform the customization.

3. Define colors and borrow more folder icons

Although the above StyleFolder software can change file icons, the software itself does not provide icons and requires the user to specify the icon file, which is not convenient enough. Now, with another software, Folder Marker, you can choose more icon styles while implementing folder color change.

First, a rich selection of folder colors can be applied through the right-click menu command Mark Folder (Figure 5). In addition, more folder styles can also be selected by specifying the files to be defined in the main Mark Folder window, and then by using the various folder category tabs, for example, you can choose a folder style named by letter, a folder style named by number, etc. (Figure 6).

You can also choose to label them by color classification, by how many stars are marked to identify them, by icons of daily office documents, etc. Just switch the operation and choose through the folder style tab.

4. No need to install Portable Folder Color Changing Solution

If you think that the above software needs to be installed, you can use Folder Painter, another portable folder color changing tool that does not need to be installed.

Copy the software into any location (including removable media) and run the main program to enter the configuration window. Enter what you want to display in the context menu in the Context Menu Name text box, for example, “Change Folder Icon”, and then click the Add to Menu button to add the command to the folder right-click menu (Figure 7).

After that, you can easily select the color of the folder icon in the submenu by clicking on the folder and selecting the “Change File Icon” command in the right-click menu (Figure 8).

Tip: If the Use Shift Key to Display Context Menu checkbox is selected, the Change Folder Icon command will be displayed only when the Shift key is pressed and the right click is made.
