Software recommendation: manually manage system startup items

When there is too much software in the startup items, the system will start more and more slowly, although you can manage the startup items through security software, but this kind of software itself takes up many resources, which will only make the system run more slowly. So in order to better solve the startup problem, we might as well use some professional small software to manage it manually by ourselves.

View and add startup information

With the software Autorun Organizer, we can find out the main startup items in the current system in a clear and concise way. If you want to see all startup items, you can click on the “All startup locations” tab on the Autorun Organizer window list, and behind each startup item you can see the startup type of that item (Figure 1). Right-click on the name of a startup entry and select the “Show the Startup Entry Location” item in the pop-up menu to immediately jump to the location of the startup entry in the system.

If users want to add other startup items by themselves, then click the “Add” button in the upper left corner of the window, and click the “…” button after “Path” in the pop-up dialog box. button after “Path” in the pop-up dialog box, and select the program file that you want to add to the startup items recently (Figure 2). Continue to click the “Forward” next button, use the default first option in the dialog box that appears, and finally click the “Finish” button to see it appear in the list of startup items.

Tip: This software will recommend the installation of other software during the installation process, users just need to remove the checkbox before the name of other software to avoid the installation of irrelevant software.

Manage the existing startup items of the system

Startup items are broadly divided into two categories, one is closely related to the system startup items (such as antivirus software, drivers, etc.), and the other is the third-party applications that have nothing to do with the system.

For less important third-party software startup items, you can delete them or delay their startup, here is an example of “Baidu Chinese Input Method Service Program” in my system, check the “Disable Temporarily” option under it to prevent it from starting with the system. option to prevent it from starting with the system. If you just want to delay its startup, then click the inverted triangle button behind the “Delay load for seconds” option and enter the delayed startup time in the pop-up dialog box (Figure 3).

If we see a horizontal line on the name of the startup item, it means that the software was not removed during the uninstallation, in fact, the startup item has no meaning, select the startup item and click the “Remove” button below to delete it.

Tip: If you want to restore a disabled startup item, just remove the checkbox in front of the “Disable Temporarily” option.

Determine the security of startup items by yourself

There are more and more malware in the network, and sometimes there are traces of them in the startup items. If we have doubts about a certain startup item, we can use VirusTotal, an online analysis site, to determine the security of this startup item. Click on the link behind the VirusTotal icon and you will see the results of the analysis in the pop-up page (Figure 4).
