Forums are still a very popular social media today, but in order to keep them running safely, many of them restrict the types of files users can upload. For example, if a user wants to share a file such as a picture, he can only do so by means of an image link. If a user wants to share multiple images at once, it will be very troublesome to do so. So the easiest way is to upload the images to the gallery and call them up quickly when needed.
Select the desired gallery information
In fact, there are many galleries available on the web, including free galleries and private galleries. But no matter what kind of gallery you have, it’s a lot of trouble to manage, so we need to find a good management software first. PicGo is just such a management tool (https://github.com/Molunerfinn/PicGo), which currently supports the common Weibo gallery, 7Niu gallery, Tencent Cloud CO, Yapi Cloud, GitHub and SM.MS, etc.
Now run the PicGo management tool and in the pop-up window click on the “PicGo Settings” option in the left list. Next, we’ll set up the settings as needed. First, we’ll select “Weibo Gallery” and “SM.MS Gallery” from the “Select Gallery to Show” option. Then we turn on the option “Rename before upload” or rename according to the time stamp, which is prepared for better management (Figure 1).
Configure the account information of the gallery
Now we click on the “Gallery Settings” option in the left list to set the account password for the selected gallery. PicGo provides two different authentication methods for users, username and cookie, the easiest way is to enter user’s Weibo username and password for confirmation, but the disadvantage of this method is the slow upload speed.
So how do we get the cookie information for the Weibo gallery? Here we first install an extension called “EditThisCookie” for Google Chrome, then log in to your Weibo home page. Then click on the extension icon in the toolbar and click on the “Export Cookie” command in the pop-up dialog box. The cookie information will be copied to the system’s clipboard, and then we can paste it into the PicGo management tool and confirm it by clicking the Confirm button (Figure 2).
Uploading images and managing them
Now click on the “Upload Area” option in the list on the left side of the PicGo management tool, and then drag and drop the image to the right window to release it, so that you can quickly complete the image upload operation (Figure 3). Of course, if you have set the “Upload Rename” option before, you will be asked to set the rename during the upload process. In addition, you can also set the form of the image link that will be obtained after the file is uploaded.
Later, when we need to manage the uploaded images, first click on the “Album” option on the left side of the administration tool. Then in the right window, you can see all the uploaded images, and through the buttons below each image, we can copy the sharing link, modify the image link and delete the image (Figure 4).
