Setting manual or automatic time advanceoptions in Microsoft PowerPoint 2019

Advancing slides manually (that is, on a mouse click) is set bydefault in a presentation. The slide will advance on the mouse click andplay for the duration of the timing set (if any). You would then need tomouse-click again for the next slide to advance on screen, and so on.The Advance option is set under theAdvanced Slide heading of the Timing group.

To change this option to automatically advance after a set number ofseconds, do the following:

  1. Select the slide that contains the transition effect.
  2. From the Timing group, remove thetick next to the On MouseClick option.
  1. Click on the checkbox next to the After: heading, as illustrated in thefollowing screenshot:

  1. In the After: text area, enter (inseconds) the time the slide should take to advance to the next slide. Ifyou do not want to add additional seconds, leave the timing at 0 but ensure that the After: setting is active.
