Setting the header and footer distance in Microsoft Excel 2019

Often, you need just a little more space at the top of theprinted worksheet to either fit data onto a page or to separate theheader a little further from the worksheet data. The distancebetween the header and the top of the page, as well as the distancebetween the footer and the bottom of the page, can be set using thePage Setup dialog box, asillustrated in the following screenshot:

  1. Open a workbook and change the view to Page Layout so that you can visibly see theHeader area at the top of theworksheet view.
  2. Select the Page Setup dialog boxlauncher from the end of the PageSetup group on the Page Layouttab.
  3. In the Page Setup dialog box,select the Margins tab.
  4. Alter the Header: and Footer: values by using the increase ordecrease spin arrows, or type a value into the placeholderprovided.
  5. Click on OK to confirm, whencomplete. View the change at the top of the worksheet.
