Software recommendations: the screen into a blackboard “sketchpad” to find an alternative

You should know that the new Windows 10 comes with the “Sketchpad” software, which is located in the Windows Ink workspace. Sketchpad allows you to use your screen as a chalkboard, making it very easy to present. If you are still using an earlier version of Windows that does not include this software, or if you feel that it is not powerful enough, you can find some related third-party software to use instead.

Clicking on “Math Board” in “Teaching Aids” will bring up a more professional window for creating math boards. We can not only use the “Create” button to create various faces, combinations and rotating bodies, but also use the “Construct” button to create various line combinations; through the “Animation” button, you can You can create various animations including translation animation, rotation animation, hidden animation, color animation, and arc animation with the “Animation” button. If you need to construct a function, click the “Function” button, and then select the function type from the function panel to add. When you need to measure the parameters of a part of the figure, you can click the “Measure” button, and then select the measurement target type from the pop-up panel, such as length, angle, area, etc. to measure, and you can also use the “Calculate” button to calculate (Figure 2).


Tip: If you need to write and draw on the desktop background, click the “Control” button, the drawing board will be hidden, revealing the desktop, leaving only the toolbar, you can write and draw on the desktop. 2.

2. To be minimalist, use Dahong Screen Brush

Sometimes, we do not need the above professional and complex tools, but only need the basic brush function. Then, use the “Dahong Screen Brush” will do.

Dahong Screen Pen is a very simple screen pen software. Launch the software and enter the settings window. Adjust the thickness of the brush by slider, and then select the color of the brush by the brush color checkbox. Click the “Minimize” button and the software is ready to go (Figure 3).


When you need to draw and write on the screen, press F1 to see the brush cursor and use the mouse to draw and write; if you want to end the drawing and writing, press F2 function key (Figure 4).


Tip: If you choose the “Auto Restore” option in the software setting interface, press F2 after you finish drawing and writing, the setting panel will pop up automatically. Otherwise, no window will be popped up when you finish painting. 3.

If you are looking for a compromise between “professional” and “minimalist”, then “Screen Pen” is a good choice. “Screen Pen is a well-structured screen pen tool. When you open “Screen Pen”, there is only one toolbar in the interface, and the seven buttons on the top divide the software’s functions very clearly. Click the first button to switch the mouse function to drawing and ordinary mouse; click the second button to choose the pen type, the third button to choose the line type, the fourth button to choose the color of the stroke, and then you can draw. If you draw wrong, use the fifth button to clear the screen. Finally, if you need to save the drawing, click the sixth button to save the file. Tip: Where is the screen drawing saved? Simply right-click the software icon on the taskbar and select “Settings” to choose where to save the image file. If you want to clean up the screen automatically when you exit the drawing state, you can check the “Clear screen automatically when you exit the drawing state” option (Figure 6).
