How to Convert Large and Multiple TIFF to PDF on Mac or Windows?

If you are a graphics designer, photographer, or anyone who regularly works with digital images, then it is likely that you have come across TIFF or Tagged Image File Format files. The TIFF file format is known to store raster graphics images lossless meaning you get the highest quality image possible without any data loss or compression. While the TIFF format is unbeatable when it comes to image quality, it presents problems in the management and storage of files. Due to their large sizes, TIFF files are difficult to manage especially as the number of files increases.

To tackle these issues, we can convert our TIFF files into PDF and enjoy a single file containing all our TIFF images. Since PDF also enjoys being a standard file format with plenty of customer support and powerful software (like Adobe Acrobat Reader), this helps us to easily transfer, store, edit and customize our TIFF files once they have been converted. Below are some of the most straightforward ways you can convert your large and multiple TIFF files into PDF.

Method 1: Using the Built-in print Method on Windows 10

If you are using Windows 10, you can use a hassle-free way to convert your TIFF files on the go. Windows 10 provides a built-in method with its Photos app that lets you convert TIFF files to PDF without the use of any external software or online tool. Simply follow these steps:

Step 1: Locate the TIFF image file you need to convert and right-click on the file. Now choose the “Print” option from the pop-up menu.

Step 2: The “Print Pictures” dialogue box will now appear. From the “Printers” drop-down list select the “Microsoft Print to PDF” option. Now choose the “Paper size” and “Quality” options according to your preferences. Tick the “Fit picture to frame” checkbox if the files you have chosen are not of the same size.

Method 5: Using a Conversion Dedicated Software

If you are looking for a bit more functionality out of your TIFF converter you can choose software for the job. Software converter will provide a more polished interface with convenient controls designed solely for the conversion job. Many TIFF to PDF convertors also offers other tempting features like PDF to Excel converter or PDF to Word converter. Furthermore, you will receive a developed interface where you can edit your file before converting it.

The interface may contain features like changing the resolution of images, choose the number of pages for the PDF file, and even choosing a page size. Many TIFF to PDF convertors also comes pre-packed with a PDF editor which can allow you to make tweaks immediately after you convert your file.

Unlike the other methods, dedicated software will also allow you to convert large files and keep track of the conversions. This is especially useful for users who work with raster images regularly. If you deal with TIFF and PDF files regularly consider choosing a software convertor.

BatchPhoto: BatchPhoto is a professional image processor, reader, and convertor for people who want to edit their images and convert them from a one-place-stop. The application can read over 100 different image file formats and allows conversion of over 70+ formats including PNG, SVG, JPEG, and of course TIFF.

BatchPhoto also allows you to edit your images offering features like crop, rename, add effect, rotate, change DPI, remove the watermark, and much more. Its fast conversion and high-quality results make it an easy choice for most professional users. It also allows you to share your files and images on the go.

Method 6: Using Adobe Photoshop Conversion Feature

Adobe Photoshop is perhaps the most quintessential application in any graphic designer’s toolbox. Even if you are not a graphics designer you must be familiar with the most popular and powerful image editing tool. Whether you want to create digital art, edit your photos for Instagram or create logos for your brand, Photoshop has functionality for all.

With its powerful element selection and layering feature, Photoshop gives you control of every pixel of your image. Out of all the photo editors available online, Photoshop has the biggest arsenal of features and options. Along with all its other features, Photoshop also offers conversion of TIFF to PDF. Simply follow the steps below to create a PDF of your TIFF images batch.

Step 1: Open your TIFF image in Photoshop and go to Windows -> Actions.

Step 4: Go to File -> Save As and choose output as PDF.

Step 5: Now go to File -> Automate -> Batch. Choose the “TIFF to PDF” option, import new images to Photoshop, and then click the Play option to convert the entire batch to PDF automatically.

Choosing the appropriate method for converting your TIFF files largely depends on the volume of your batch, the purpose of conversion, and the device you are using. If you are using a small device like an Android or iPhone then downloading a dedicated application might be the best choice as the online converters don’t function as well on phones and there is no built-in feature to convert your files. On the other hand, if you have a laptop or desktop PC you can take advantage of the online tools which can handle small batches and provide fast results.

For professional people and businessmen who regularly indulge with PDF files getting a powerful PDF editor like PDFelement would be an excellent decision. If you have no internet connection and need something official, you can use the built-in features available in both Mac and Windows. We hope you found these methods useful.
