Step 1: The first step is to download and launch the EaseUS Todo Backup and click on the System Clone option. The tool will automatically select the partition and boot partition options.
Step 2: Choose the target device where you want to perform the transfer, such as a hard drive or SSD.
Step 3: Now, choose the Proceed option to start the transferring process.
Step 4: Once the process is completed, don’t forget to reboot your computer. After that, you can remove the source HDD.
Transfer OS from the boot drive to the new hard drive through AOMEI Backupper
AOMEI is a disk cloning software. It is used by many people around the globe. AOMEI backupper has many features including system clone, disk clone, and partition clone. This software allows cloning GPT disk to MBR and vice visa. Cloning smaller disk to larger disks or cloning larger HDD to smaller SDD is also supported. In order to transfer OS from boot drive to new hard drive, disk clone feature can be chosen in AOMEI Backupper standard version, it will clone all the boot required files. Step 1: First, download the AOMEI Backupper software and launch the Partition Assistant. You will see the main window where you can verify the partition of your device.
Step 2: After that, click on the option Migrate OS to SSD and choose the Next option. This will transfer your data to a new SSD.
Step 3: Now choose the unallocated space or a partition where you want to move your files. Make sure to select the option I want to delete all partitions on this disk 2 to migrate to the disk. Then click Next to transfer your operating system to a new hard drive.
Step 4: According to your requirements in the 4th step, you can modify the changes. This includes size, location, partition type, and much more. Keep in mind that it can be performed only for the selected destination. You can choose the default settings as well.
Step 5: Once you have chosen the settings in step 4 now, you can click Next to transfer the OS to the new hard drive. You can also make the changes to unallocated space before and after, as seen in the image below.
Step 6: After selecting the Next option, you will see a pop-up message to ensure that you can now move the operating system, but make sure not to restart your device during this process. Read the message carefully and click on the Finish option.
Step 7: In order to complete the process, you can select the Apply option from the dashboard. Apply option will save the changes for you, which will be available in the Pending Operations.
Note: The migration process can take some time, so make sure not to turn off the system during the process. After the changes are done, you can reboot the device.
