System hacks: Windows registry problems easily solved

Problems with the registry may affect the stable operation of the operating system. There are many factors that can cause changes to the registry or even damage it. So, how to check and repair the registry? Previously, we have introduced some system optimization suite tools, such as CCleaner, Glary Utilities, Puran Utilities, etc., which include the registry repair optimization function. But if we only care about this one function, we don’t necessarily need to install a “ten-pack” package. In fact, a small software that is more focused on this WinExt Registry Fixer is more accurate and fast to solve such problems.

Download and install WinExt Registry Fixer software. After launching the software, it will automatically scan the registry for problems, displaying in red text the number of problems found and the time taken to scan, and list the specific categories and items in the window, each of which includes the type of problem, the description of the problem, and the corresponding location in the registry. Clicking on a problem category in the left column will immediately display in the right pane whether the item it contains has a problem (Figure 1).

If we find a problem with an item, select it and click the “Open Location” link in the bottom right corner of the window to automatically open the Registry Editor and locate the problem so that it can be addressed (Figure 2).

We can also save all scanned issues in a text file for review. Simply click on the “Export to File…” link in the lower right corner of the window and you will get the issue log file with a name similar to “WERF_Result_20210902.TXT” (the date in the file name changes with the date) (Figure 3). (the date in the file name changes with the current date) (Figure 3).

We can check the problems in the registry according to the list given above, either by selecting all of them or by manually excluding some of the items that do not need to be dealt with, and finally click the “Repair” button to repair them. Before repairing, the software will automatically backup the registry restore point as a REG file, so that we can restore the system state through the “Restore” button.

In addition, we can use the right-click menu command to selectively repair a single item. After selecting a record for an item, right-click and select the “Repair” option from the pop-up menu. The “Restore” option can also be used to restore the registry to its previous state (Figure 4).
