If youchange a cell number from General toPercentage format after typing a valueinto a cell, you are going to get the incorrect percentagedisplayed (1500%). So, follow the basic percentage format rules listedhere:

  • Click on a cell in the workbook and type 15% (include the% sign to force the number format to change to %),then press Enter.
  • Click on a cell in the workbook and format the cell as a%, then type the percentage value into the cell (for instance15) and then press Enter.
