Working with multilevel lists in Microsoft Word 2019

A multilevel list has more than one level. This type of list allowsyou to keep control of chapter numbers, headings, and subheadings in adocument. Multilevel lists can include bullets or numbers. Multilevellist is located just to the right of the other list icons located underthe Paragraph group, asillustrated in the following screenshot:

Here is an example of an outline (multilevel numbered list) and howto get from one list level to another, using the mouse. Alternatively,type the list prior to converting to a numbered list, and then apply thenumbered list format of your choice:

Use the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent icons on the Home tab, under the Paragraph group, to promote and demote listlevels. The Change List Level optionat the bottom of the drop-down list (see the next screenshot) is anotherway to increase or decrease levels.
